Last Thursday, along with the Long Island Index, LTL Architects unveiled to the public its designs for rethinking single-use surface parking systems on Long Island. LTL Architects' proposal focused on the Village of Westbury. The design integrated parking, terraced housing and civic space adjacent to the Long Island Rail Road to enrich the downtown and support smart economic growth as a model for future development.
The event was held by the nonprofit Rauch Foundation at Adelphi University, which also featured proposals on the future of Long Island by Utile Inc. Architecture + Planning, DUB Studios, and Roger Sherman Architecture. CBS, Newsday, and NBC were present to report on the event.
