New York, NY
2022
7,300 sq. ft.
The design for the new headquarters for the Bronx Council on the Arts negotiates public engagement with a productive work environment. Balancing community-based functions, such as art-handling instruction and gallery exhibitions, alongside the day-to-day operations of the Council’s staff, the new space combines transparency with privacy – mediating between the interior and the street, and between public and office spaces – while optimizing the programmatic capacity of the existing former bank building.
